Boredom Is Eating My Brian

Well, I'm actually not all that bored. It has been a busy day at work earning that glorious paycheck. Unfortunately nothing I've had to do today has really required much in the way of brain cells. So while I've gotten quite a bit done I don't feel like I've actually accomplished anything. *sigh*
My only real accomplishment today was finding a place on-line where I can order a replacement blade for my lawn mower. I was hoping to find one local - and I'll still check Home Depot down the street - but it looks like I'll probably have to order one. Then I have to figure out how to actually replace the damn thing. Let us hope I can get the nut off. The last time I tried to replace a part I couldn't get enough leverage to loosen the screw. I also seem to need a torque wrench to put the nut back on, which means a trip to the hardware store because I certainly don't have one of those (whatever a torque wrench is).
I have also decided that there is so much I want to do to the house that I'm pretty much paralyzed. Remodel the bathroom? Or get new vinyl windows? Or replace all the flooring? Or change the screen porch into a 3- or 4-season sunroom? Or paint the office? Or have the attic partially finished? Or put in a pull down stair so I can actually get into my attic? Or.....well, the list just seems to keep growing. True, pretty much everything on it is a want, not a need (although the pulldown stairs for the attic would rock). Redoing the master bath is going to have to stay high on the list - it would be really nice to be able to shower in there instead of having to go down the hall. I could always take a shortcut for now and put up a shower surround to protect the drywall. But that is just a temporary solution, a band aid, and in a year or two I'd replace it with the remodel anyway making it a waste of money.
But do I do the remodel first and then the floors? Or floors everywhere but the bath and then the remodel? And when do I paint? Right now I just so flustered with the choices that I've been ignoring all of them. Plus I still feel a little hinky about spending money for anything other than needed repairs right now. Yes, I still have a job today - but who knows if I'll have one tomorrow.
Of my plans for the weekend I accomplished most but not all of them. The finishing of the new paintings did not get done. Nor did the watching of any of the movies from Netflix. I may need to drop back down to the one movie at a time plan because I am just not into the movie watching thing these days. I'd rather read. Oh, and I didn't get to the grocery store. I'm going to try to do at least a quickie grocery run on the way home tonight. Stuff for avocado quesadillas and something to bring for lunch. Anything else can wait until this weekend. I have an appointment Saturday so I'll already be out of the house - I can do a real shopping trip then.
No book reviews. I've read two recently that I liked (Whiskey and Water by Elizabeth Bear plus And Only To Deceive by Tasha Alexander); I just don't have it in me to actually review them right now. Maybe later.
I've babbled enough. Bye.
