Taking Italy By Storm

Just a quick note to say that I'm here in Italy, alive and well, and having a great time.
Things I've learned:
1. Venetian mosquitoes find me just as tasty as their American cousins.
2. Living in Italy for several years does not mean the person actually speaks Italian.
3. Venice has got to be one of the most beautiful cities on earth.
4. I can stay in a Religious House of Hospitality and not be struck by lightening.

So far we've been to Padova (Padua), Venice, and Sacile (for dinner and to catch the train). Santa Lucia is super small but just too cute for words. I've taken the train pretty much everywhere, walked through an orchard, walked around Venice (without getting lost!), hiked back in the hills, and will likely go up the mountain today or tomorrow. Only a few more days left, which is sad, but damn am I glad I came!
