You May Experience Occasional Outages
Jul. 13th, 2009 04:13 pmThe project I've been dealing with - the one that has been back and forth with the vendor umpteen times - is finally back with me and actaully working!
Which means the next 6-8 weeks of my life are nothing but code analysis, rewrites, and testing. So don't be surprised if blog entries are few and far between.
I'd love to post some reviews of recent reads but I just don't really have time. Suffice it to say that Sin in the Second City: Madams, Ministers, Playboys, and the Battle for America's Soul by Karen Abbott seriously ROCKS! If you are at all interested in history, Chicago, turn of the century life, or really just like non-fiction that reads like a novel, this books is for you. I can't wait for Abbott's next book.
And I finished Daughters of Isis: Women of Ancient Egypt by Joyce A. Tyldeslay this weekend. Again, great book! I'm a big fan of Ms. Tyldeslay's writing - she has a knack for presenting academic material in a very accessible way. This is my second book of hers, having previously read (and enjoyed) Hatchepsut: The Female Pharaoh. Now I just need to get my hands on a copy of Cleopatra: Last Queen Of Egypt and I'll be a happy girl. She also has books on Ramesses and Nefertiti that I still need to get to.
Yes, I am a geek and proud of it, thank you!
OK, back to the salt mines. I'll post when I can.
