Chilling Out

I worked from home today as the new refrigerator was being delivered.  Got it a few hours ago and boy-howdy is it purty!  It is currently chilling away, even making a few ice cubes already!  Did I mention how pretty it is?  And that it is black?  Yes, black is pretty much my favorite color.  I eventually want to have all black appliances in the kitchen.  Of course I also want to redo the cabinets, counter-tops, redo the layout, etc.  Such things take time - and money.  I think new windows, curtains and refrigerator is enough for this year, yes?  If I do anything else it will be to get more insulation blown in.  Otherwise I think I'm done for 2010.

He's Coming Home!!!!!!

Just got the email from my Sissy - J- is being released from rehab tomorrow.  Mr. Man is coming home, baby! 

WOOT!

Not only that but guess what?  He walked 20 feet!  Can you believe it?  Twenty feet!  Okay so it took him forever because he's not allowed to put more than "touchdown" weight on that leg so he can't get any momentum going with the walker.  But damn, he's walking! 

Both he and Sissy are ready for him to be home.  J- can do just about everything for himself, only needing help with a few things.  He'll have Home Health for a while and outpatient physical therapy.  Sissy is taking some time off and working part-time for a while after that until they both get settled.  And J- is such a different person these days, way more outgoing than he was before, so much more full of life! 

Thank you to everyone out there on the interwebs that sent positive thoughts and prayers their way.  A couple of months ago we all thought we were about to lose him and now he's walking 20 feet!
