The Lights Are On
Aug. 25th, 2010 09:12 pmTwelve hours and a shitload of aggravation later my application is up and running. The users are here doing their thing and once the prices post I get to leave. I;ve been here since 10:40 when I was told my server was ready. They LIED!
Well, technically the server was there but it wasn't fully restored. And after THREE more attempts to restore it via the VMWare full restore process I told them to stop, install IIS manually and I'd finish it manually. Once I got the server guys to do that it took me all of 30 minutes to have the server done and the applications up. *sigh*
Should be about 30-45 more minutes and I can go home. Work tomorrow where I have to scramble to restage a production move - one piece was delayed as of about 5 hours ago so everything that was bundled with it has to be unbundled and restaged by 5:00 PM. I may miss yoga tomorrow - depends on how tired I am at five tomorrow. Hopefully I won't have to come back over here tomorrow.
I still hate Disaster Recovery week but at least P- and Z- make it fun.
Sleep soon. I hope.
