Happy New Year
Dec. 31st, 2008 09:25 amOK, the icon has nothing to do with this post. I just think it rocks! I love me some sinfest, baby!
So anyway, it is the last day of 2008 (its already 2009 in Australia) and I for one am ready for this year to be over. It wasn't a terrible year for me or anything. It just wasn't a great one either. Work has gone nuts as less people are expected to do more, more, more! I'm worth about half what I was at the beginning of the year because of the stock market debacle. But overall i had it much better than a lot of people. I still have a job. I still have a house. My 401(k) isn't on empty. So yeah, it may not have been the best year but I'm still thankful because it definitely could have been a lot worse.
In 2009 I'm hoping to get to do some new and interesting things at work. The volume of work isn't going to go down any, that's for sure. I leave on my cruise to the Western Caribbean in three and a half weeks - I can't wait to explore various Mayan ruins. I have plans for redoing my office at home that include painting and some new bookshelves. And of course I have tons of new books to read, each one an adventure all its own. Other than that I don't really have any plans for 2009...I'm just going to let it unfold before me and see what happens. Probably better that way.
Here's hoping that this next year is better. Peace.
