(no subject)
Sorry I haven't been around for the last week or so. After the disaster recovery stuff I kind of had no brain and no motivation to blog.
And unfortunately this is going to have to be quick.
J- is doing well and is very happy to be home. There is still a long way to go - the spacer in his hip has shifted, making his case "challenging" so he's been referred to another ortho in Charlotte (the partner of his current ortho). Once he sees the new guy we'll have a better idea on whether a hip replacement can be done, if bone grafts are needed, etc. The good news is that his cardiologist saw him this week and didn't hear a murmur. J- was supposed to be doing an echocardiogram this week and if all is well on that he won't have to come back for a year. And he should be getting the feeding tube out soon as well. So more progress all around in North Carolina. (they are far inland so no threat from Earl although I'm sure they'd like the rain).
I had lunch today with a couple of co-workers and my old boss, just us girls. It was a lot of fun and great to see Becky. Can I just say how much I miss working for her? Although I know she wouldn't give up retirement to come back - can't blame her there.
And the trip to Italy is two weeks away now! I am totally bouncing off the walls, I am so ready to go. I don't know what kind of internet access I'll have so blogging may be sparse while I'm away but I promise to do a write-up when I get back and post some pics. The majority of pics will be on either my Flickr or my Dad's - both of which are locked to friends only - so if you are interested in seeing them leave a comment on the write-up post so I can get your email and send a guest pass.
